I am no longer following Weight Watchers. It’s a great program and I may at some point go back to it but now I am on a “healing” health plan. My new Los Angeles acupuncturist has me eating grass fed meats, eggs, butter, organic veggies and low glycemic organic fruits (and very limited nuts).
You are reading that right. For two weeks I had no grains, no beans, no sugars or processed foods. It’s very similar to the Paleo diet (shout out to Tyson for sending me to that diet right after I was diagnosed with Diabetes).
It’s been easier than I imagined, (especially since I can eat as much as I want) but time consuming since I have to cook everything - including my own chicken stock.
The purpose is to give my body time to heal from the plethora of toxins, pesticides and preservatives that I have been ingesting over my lifetime. As I detox, chronic inflammation will decrease and my organs will be able to concentrate on their actual jobs instead of reacting to the constant battle of stress.
I’ve lost five pounds and my triglycerides have dropped by 125. They are still too high but should continue to decrease.
I'm headed in a new direction...the right direction...the one towards health.
